With alluring red and green leaves, it’s no wonder why poinsettias have become the undisputed plants of Christmas. As in past years, we’ve grown our selections right here in Northern Arkansas. But we love them so much that we couldn’t limit ourselves to the traditional colors. This season, we’ve grown ten varieties ranging from deep scarlets to stunning fuchsia and crisp white, and everything in between. Here’s a short guide to point your poinsettia selections in the right direction!

Traditional Poinsettias

These classic varieties are sure to bring some comfort and joy to your home. We’ve grown them in a variety of sizes to suit your preferences: Prestige Red is what you probably think of when you envision a poinsettia. You can’t go wrong with its deep green leaves and red bracts. In case you didn’t know, the term bract refers to the brightly colored leaves of these plants. They are different from the flowers, which are the small golden buds at the center of each set of bracts.

Polar Bear features ivory bracts with white-green transition leaves below. The variety was originally developed by the Paul Ecke Ranch in California, a ranch famous for its poinsettias. They donated some of their proceeds from the Polar Bear variety to the conservation of polar bears in the arctic.

Burgundy has deep wine-red bracts that pair well with any décor. The rich colors win it a top place among the traditional poinsettias. These classic varieties are sure to bring some comfort and joy to your home. We’ve grown them in a variety of sizes to suit your preferences.

Trendy Alternatives

Going beyond the right, white and green, here are trendy alternatives that can bring some jingle to your decor:Marble remains popular for those seeking an alternative. It features variegated pink bracts that have an undeniable smooth and sculpted look.Jingle Bell Rock is the inverse of the Marble. Instead of having red bracts with white edges, they have white bracts with red edges. The striking color contrast makes them among the loudest of poinsettias, invigorating your senses like the first snowfall.Winter Rose has ruffled crimson bracts that resemble large rose blossoms. But the beautiful bracts last much longer than a rose. They’ll satisfy your desire for winter flowers even into late March, when other poinsettias have faded and lost some of their leaves.Red Glitter features chic flecks of white on scarlet bracts. A more upright habit and lighter green bracts make it a cheerful contrast to the traditional varieties.

Pink Poinsettias

As with any holiday, it’s fun to deck the halls with shades beyond the usual scheme. Even once the celebrations are over, these pinks can kick-start your New Year with fresh color:Enduring Pink looks like rosy cheeks on a fresh winter day. The deep glowing pink is impressive on its own and even more stunning beside a darker burgundy or red.Ice Punch has pink leaves with white centers that look as though they’ve been graced by frost. The white grows whiter as the bracts mature. They make a flashy contrast to the Prestige Red or Polar Bear.Ice Crystals features bold, overflowing bracts of hot fuchsia. The leaves are almost as boisterous as the Jingle Bell Rock, tempered by refreshing streaks of white. Our wide spectrum of choices gives you the chance to enjoy many color combinations.
