At Westwood, we take great pride in growing our poinsettias right here in Northwest Arkansas, providing them with the utmost care starting back in August! Our team tends to these plants daily, ensuring they receive the perfect amount of water, nutrients, and attention needed to develop into more colorful, healthier plants fresh from the greenhouse. By starting our growing process in late summer, we cultivate multiple crops throughout the fall, guaranteeing a continuous supply of fresh, healthy poinsettias for your home.

How to Care for Your Poinsettias

Poinsettias are relatively easy to care for, but they do require some attention to thrive. Here are some tips:

Light: Poinsettias prefer bright, indirect light. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight, as this can scorch their leaves.

Water: Water your poinsettia when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot.

Temperature: Poinsettias prefer temperatures between 65-70 degrees Fahrenheit. Avoid placing them near drafts or heat sources. Keep them inside! They will die within hours of being outside in the cold!

Fertilizer: Our poinsettias don't require fertilizer once in bloom. If you plan t try and keep them beyond the holidays (not recommended), you can fertilize once they start actively growing again.

How to Use Poinsettias in Your Home

Poinsettias are versatile plants that can be used in various ways to add holiday cheer to your home. Here are some ideas:

Centerpiece: A poinsettia makes a stunning centerpiece for your holiday table

Gift: Poinsettias make a thoughtful and festive gift for friends and family

Around the Christmas Tree: Creating a ring around the base of your tree is a unique and stunning way to hide the trunk while adding more holiday flare.
